Boundary Measures Inspection

Course Description

This course is designed to develop delegates who are responsible for boundary measures inspection as part of their duties on Network Rail Infrastructure. This module is designed to train persons who are responsible for undertaking off track lineside inspection where they are required to be involved in boundary measure inspection in their daily work. It seeks to develop a person’s knowledge, understanding and skills and is therefore particularly suited to persons required to prove their capability in these areas.

Audience

The new course is for core delegates who are in the roles of Team Leader Offtrack (Inspections), Team Leader Offtrack (Maintenance) and Technician Offtrack. Optional delegates are in roles of Section Supervisor Offtrack, Mobile Operations Manager and Operative Offtrack. Delegates must meet the medical requirements of Network Rail Standard NR/L2/OHS/00124 Medical Fitness Level 4.

Participants will learn different methods of boundary inspection, how to assess the condition and adequacy of boundary measures, and how to evaluate the likelihood of incursions. The course covers the process for addressing defects identified during inspections and emphasises the importance of clear communication skills when interacting with colleagues during boundary inspections, using the specified terminology.
