Course Description
<p>This course covers safe switching of the power supply to the signalling system to an alternative power supply, including mobile generators and UPS’s, and to switch off the power supply to a particular signalling feeder if required. It will also make you aware of any faults that may occur as part of this task but how to resolve them is not taught as part of this competence.<br />

You will gain knowledge, understanding and skills of:<br />
- Health and safety information and procedures<br />
- How you would plan to switch signalling power supplies in different scenarios<br />
- How you would conduct a switching operation, including the connecting and switching of mobile generators, in different scenarios<br />
- Documentation requirements when conducting a switch operation<br />
- Use of good communication skills when conducting a switch operation</p>
Audience
NR Only D&P and S&T Technicians (location dependent) who are required to switch signal power supplies as part of their role.
