This course includes LOWS Lookout duties and competence, as well as COSS duties and competence as a Controller. It can be attended by a Lookout who does not hold COSS and this person would be awarded the LOWS Lookout Competence. It can also be attended by a COSS, and LOWS Controller would be awarded. If the person holds both Lookout and COSS they will be awarded both competencies.

The Lookout is crucial in maintaining a safe system of work when appointed by a Controller of Site Safety (COSS). This course covers the duties, roles and responsibilities of a Lookout. This includes the procedures to be followed when acting as a Lookout, the responsibilities of a Lookout when acting as a Site Lookout, Intermediate Lookout and Distant Lookout and the equipment required when acting as a lookout and the methods of warning to be used. Upon successful completion of the course: 1. Delegates Sentinel card will be endorsed with LKT 2. The successful candidate will also be issued with a work experience logbook 3. Interim assessment will take place after 12 months 4. Delegates must have 6 logbook experiences recorded within the 12 months or the competence will be withdrawn
