Rock Slope Hazard Index
Course Description
This is a 2-day field-based course covering data collection for rock slope examinations. The course content covers recording of geometric data (including slope heights, angles, vegetation cover and distance to rail infrastructure), geotechnical data (including rock strength, rock discontinuity geometry, potential rock slope failure types and sizes and presence of groundwater) and remedial work data (presence of, coverage of and condition/ effectiveness of pre-existing rock slope remedial measures). This is a blended course with a mandatory pre-learning requirement consisting of 4 eLearning courses followed by 2 days in the field. Evidence of completing the eLearning must be provided to the trainer when attending the face-to-face element. Completion of this course is required along with the Earthworks Management competence in order to be awarded the Rock Slope Examination competence.
